Report: Sterling Wanted To Veto Redick Trade, Not Pay $7M For White Player

A three-team trade involving the Los Angeles Clippers, Phoenix Suns and Milwaukee Bucks almost fell apart last offseason due to the racial reservations of Donald Sterling.

The Clippers were acquiring J.J. Redick in a sign-and-trade in which Eric Bledsoe was deal to the Suns.

Sterling became reluctant to honor the agreement made by Doc Rivers because it was hard for him to see the value of paying $7 million per season for Redick.

"He thought it was too much to pay for a white player," said one source.

yes it does. He is looking at race as a determing factor not skill or ability in terms of his hiring practices. This is till a version of racism if his hiring practices are racially-based. It's actually both racist and discriminatory.

I think Sterling is just rich in money and very poor in anything else. I listened to the TMZ audio and he sounded like a grumpy old man taking his viagra pills and killing time complaining about something he does not believe until the pills can take effect. I liked the part where the girl said...Is there anything I can do to appease your insecurity (sort of)...That sounds like a foreplay technique they have been using for years. He may be a guy using reverse psychology to get his groove on since Viagra is not enough

Well, this doesn't really affect his "racist" label. If anything it makes him looks that much worse. He's just discriminating on every level it seems.

Hating white people is still racist. Just because of the stereotype that all white people are racist (which is not true by the way), it doesn't mean that hating white people is not racist. It's still racism. It's still racist.

True, which makes it even worse that he is saying bad things about black people, yet he prefers them on his team to ultimately help him make more money. The irony.

LOL yup. The guy is a mess. You were right though, by definition, he is being racists towards white people too. I just haven't ever seen a person who hated their own race. Maybe on Jerry Springer once.
