Kerr Will Have To Sell Small Ownership In Suns To Become Head Coach

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Thu May 8, 2014 5:10 pm

Steve Kerr still owns a tiny percentage of the Phoenix Suns, which he will have to divest should he be hired by another team as head coach.

Kerr's ownership stake is believed to be less than one percent.

“We’re partners,’’ Robert Sarver told The Post. “A modest partner. But he helped me originally buy the franchise [in 2004] and was the individual who introduced me to David Stern and the NBA and helped me negotiate the deal.’’

Kerr is a candidate for both the New York Knicks and Golden State Warriors

Kerr is represented by Mike Tannenbaum, who was general manager of the New York Jets through 2012.

So THAT may be the reason why this is dragging out? Haggling over market value of those shares? That definitely would prevent Kerr from signing with any team (and the NBA league office approving the signing).

When I see that picture...I always think Neil Patrick Harris and not Steve Kerr.
