Pacers Among Teams Expressing Interest In Lester Hudson

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Fri May 23, 2014 5:18 pm

Fresh off becoming the Most Valuable Player of the Chinese Basketball Association, Lester Hudson has scheduled mini-camp workouts with NBA teams – including the Indiana Pacers – to compete for a possible free agent deal, league sources told RealGM.

Hudson, a 6-foot-3 combo guard, averaged 26 points, 7.8 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game this season and led Xinjiang of China to the championship game. After the season, Hudson was awarded with MVP honors.

Hudson played with the Los Angeles Lakers’ summer league team a year ago in Las Vegas.

After his senior season at the University of Tennessee-Martin, Hudson was selected with the No. 58 pick by the Boston Celtics in the 2009 NBA draft. He allocated to three other franchises in his three NBA seasons – featuring a prominent stretch with the Cleveland Cavaliers when he averaged 12.7 points and 3.5 rebounds in 2012.

every single year many teams "express interest" in this guy and then he never makes a team. If he does, it's as a 12th man and then he eventually gets waived.

Hudson just doesn't have the physical tools to be able to play in the NBA. He tries hard and he's a scrapper which is why against the mediocre competition he sees in China he does so well. I mean Stephon Marbury, at 37 years of age, averaged nearly 22/5/5 on 54% shooting from the field and is looked upon almost as a basketball god and I don't think anyone actually believes that Marbury would be able to do anything in the NBA nowadays. Folks remember how bad he looked at the tail end of his NBA career...5 years ago?

I think he can be a 10th man and get some minutes.

He has the only division 1 quadruple double ever. You can't get that solely based on effort!

Who?

Every scrub can dominate that weak a** chinese league.

They better look at t.rice who dominated the euroleague this year.

I bet even charles jenkins is better than hudson. At least he played competitive ball all year.

I was really high on him prior to the Celtics drafting him. I thought he had a good chance to make it as a sparkplug in this league, but he hasn't stuck yet for whatever reason. There's certainly still hope for him.
