Heat Appreciate Spoelstra's Willingness To Accept Input

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Fri May 23, 2014 5:18 pm

The Miami Heat have long appreciated the willingness of Erik Spoelstra to take their input into his decision-making.

LeBron James, for example, suggested in Game 2 that Norris Cole defend Lance Stephenson.

“It’s being made a little bit more than it is, but I’ll go along with it,” Spoelstra said. “It happens all the time. It wasn’t as major as people are making it out to be.”

“In certain moments he trusts us to come up with what we feel is best,” Dwyane Wade said. “… We wouldn’t be champions if we didn’t have it. We wouldn’t be the team we are today if we didn’t have the trust from both sides to understand we don’t have all the answers, they don’t have all the answers. We’re figuring it all out together. A lot of it is on the fly at times.”

Spoelstra's never coached a game in his life. First D-wade coached the team, now BronBron. He'll never be successful again when either of the two leave or retire.

you guys don't know a thing about Spo. he's been working with the HEAT since 1995. at least give the guy some respect. this HEAT team has minimal ego. that's why the relationship between the players and coach is 2 way.

Give the man some credit. All these posts below minus 1 are saying his job is easy. I dont know if you realize coaching terms avg 3 years now in the modern NBA. What he has done with all the pressure and expectations is insane. He is a deserving 2 time champ and one great coach.

I'de go further, they don't know the first thing about coaching or pro sports. Read what Greg Popovich has to say about coaching, it's right in line with Spoelstras but no one's calling Pop a bad coach.

Haters gon' hate - great job dude, keeping the personalities in check...listening to multiple superstars...Pat Riley aka bau5 of all bau55e5...he has done an amazing job so far. It shows with the 4th straight semi-finals/finals appearance and two championships.
