Information Varies Widely On Who Cavaliers Like With No. 1 Pick

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Tue May 27, 2014 6:30 pm

The Cleveland Cavaliers don't appear to have a clear answer for who they prefer with the top overall selection as the pick changes depending on the source.

A Cavaliers' source said that Jabari Parker had been No. 1 on the board all year but felt that Andrew Wiggins would ultimately be the selection.

One source said that Wiggins' camp has been told by the Cavaliers that he's the front-runner. But another source with close access to the Cavs' front office believes Wiggins isn't even in the discussion, with the decision narrowed down to Embiid and Parker.

I feel sorry for the rook they pick - he has to put up with their front office, I bet all 3 of them are hoping that they get passed on to the 76ers at the very least..

They will find a way to screw this up.

I think ultimately they go with Wiggins. And I agree with above, I feel sorry for whomever they pick.

I wonder if Cavs feel 100% confident that Bucks will take Jabari Parker at #2.

If they do, perhaps Cavs draft Wiggins and offer him to Sixers for #3 and #10. Cavs would get Embiid and another lottery pick.

That would be great if they can pull it off. Cleveland owes it to their fans to make up for drafting Bennett. A core of Wiggins, MCW, Noels, Thad, and Wroten would make for an exciting season in Philly.

Why would Philly do that? I know they are reported to have Wiggins atop their board but Parker is a nice consolation prize and someone who would start from them right way, plus they'd still have the 10th pick to get someone like Staukas.

With the first overall pick... the Cleveland Cavaliers select Doug McDermott from Creighton

i think it's NOT wiggins. i'm hearing too many negatives as each day goes by. okay handles, soft focus, 3s?....when they say "he can be an elite defender", then they're shifting focus because they're liking his O less.

wiggins - not the franchise player people thought
parker - never was viewed as a franchise player
embiid - i keep hearing "franchise" more and more tagged to him
