Clippers Haven't Ruled Out Pursuing Carmelo

The Los Angeles Clippers haven't ruled out pursuing Carmelo Anthony who will become an unrestricted free agent on July 1.
Anthony and Chris Paul have long been close friends, with Paul making an infamous speech at Anthony's wedding about the two playing together someday.
There were trade rumors involving Blake Griffin for Anthony several months ago that were flatly denied by the Clippers.

Nobody wants to play for the Clippers. This was true forever but for some reason players forgot why and then they remembered. What a joke of a franchise. Somehow finding a way to be the last place someone wants to play for is the story of their life. Truth

I think as Lakers fans we ought to stay in hibernation for a bit and not talk trash about any team. Just sayin'...

Melo & Shump for Barnes, Redick, Jordan, maybe Bullock and 2016 or 2017 first round pick?

If they could find another big man willing to sign for the minimum or their mid-level, that could work.
CP3, Shumpert, Melo, Blake, ?

I agree. Tyson would be perfect in the trade but would definitely not work cap wise. For the minimum, I think Okafor could work. Okafor will probably have a lot of suitors this summer because of what he brings to the table on defense. It would definitely be a gamble since he hasn't played basketball in awhile but it could be worth the gamble.

wow. so it's not just the knicks forum that comes up with insane trade offers.
the knicks don't deal carmelo to the clippers for those scraps and doc brown back to the future picks.
you know blake griffin has to be in there, just like he would have to be for lebron. not saying lebron and carmelo are the same caliber of player. just saying that you need to come up off of griffin to get into the conversation of either one.
and think of the organization in place now in new york. i'm sure you're familiar with the triangle concept. deandre jordan would be an ill fit, as tyson chandler would be. so i couldn't see him as the centerpiece of a melo deal. also, can't see the knicks wanting to pay j.j. redick long-term.
did collison pick up his player option? or does he have until the 30th to do so?

real talk. as a knicks fan, i don't talk smack on anyone else's roster. especially when you don't make the playoffs.

It'll be real interesting to see what the Clippers do next. They've made some smart personnel moves over the last few seasons but I'm not all that convinced that they can keep that hot streak going. After all, it was Neil Olshey who built that team not Doc Rivers and as of right now, Doc is an unproven executive. While Neil continues to do quality work in Portland, by the way.
People can say that Doc carries a lot of respect and people want to work with him, and all that's true of course. But few figures in the NBA are more respected than Phil Jackson and so far, all that respect hasn't seemed to help him that much in New York.

I guess that makes sense as to why Chandler just got traded to Dallas in addition to his contract. I believe Collison opted-out.
