Nuggets Acquire Arron Afflalo From Magic For Evan Fournier, 56th Pick

The Orlando Magic have agreed to trade Arron Afflalo to the Denver Nuggets for Evan Fournier and the No. 56 pick in the NBA draft, according to sources.

Afflalo, a former Nugget, had been rumored to be a target of the Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Clippers.

Good pickup for the Nuggets, but ... really? Orlando? I don't know how you think this is a good deal? There's gotta be something else to this deal that we aren't seeing yet.

Either that or Orlando is working on #tanking4okafor2015?

Wow. No doubt a head-scratcher.
Seems like a giveaway by Orlando.
And how did Chicago miss out here? Afflalo would have been a great pick up for them.

Could this allow Denver to trade Affalo along with Faried, Chandler, Randolph, #11 for Love and Martin?

Could this allow Magic to absorb Jarrett Jack now in a Jack and #1 for Harris, #4, #12 deal?

Just curious if this deal was done to satisfy future offers for major pieces by both clubs.....

Can we finally get a good trade? First Dallas, giving 2 2nds and a rookie contract for one year of broken-down Tyson Chandler and swapping Calderon (who can shoot and pass) with Felton (who can't shoot, can't pass but onlyeat cheeseburgers).

New Orleans taking Asiks contract AND giftwrapping yet another 1st round pick they practically did not protect (They sure as hell won't be in the best 10 teams. Their guards are Holiday, Evans and Gordon. And I don't think they'll jumo up the lottery either.)

Now Orlando fire-salling Afflalo, quite a bit earlier than they propably should.

What's next, NBA GMs?

Yeah, doesnt seem to add up for Orlando...Nuggets are looking really good all of a sudden though, theyd be scary with a dominant center.

Fasten your seatbelts there is going to be an onslaught of trades that, from the outside, don't appear to make much basketball sense. Some teams will be jockeying for capspace, FA's, draft picks over immediate help.

So much scheming going on with the GM's, I have no idea how this trade benefits Orlando besides cap space. I wonder why they dealt Afflalo for crap when decent offers may have been on the table...

Gotta disagree with you on that N.O./Houston deal.
The Pelicans acquire a legit starter that immediately makes them better and complements their young star forward, all without giving up talent in return.
Houston clears up some of the capspace needed to be players in free agency this summer.
Asik gets a chance to be a starter again on a competitive team.
That one seems to work out well for all parties involved.

EVERYONE thought Vucevic was a scrub when he was the centerpiece to the Dwight Howard deal (from Orlando). Maybe Fournier is better than you all think. He's really young, long and looks like a damn good shooter potentially.

I hope this trade isn't true...An average prospect and the 56 pick for a great 3 point shooter and defender? We should have gotten at least a first round pick out of this (Suns would definitely do it, probably Chicago and the Clips too)
