Warriors Reach Agreement With Shaun Livingston

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Wed Jul 2, 2014 12:37 am

The Golden State Warriors and Shaun Livingston have agreed upon a three-year contract.

Livingston had an outstanding season with the Brooklyn Nets and gives the Warriors a versatile backcourt player with good size.

Warriors Reach Agreement With Shaun Livingston

Wow that was kind of fast. Having that kind of size backing up curry is a problem for the rest the league. I don't expect eye popping numbers though good luck to him.

Congrats to livingston and nice move by GSW. Awesome to see this guy extend his career after such a horrible injury. That said, ESPN doesn't have to mention it every time the guy gets to the damn FT line...

Really glad to see that he is doing well after all his serious injuries early in his career.

Go after another shooter at SG, a 3 & D kind of player at SF, and the Warriors would be pretty much set at PG, SG, and SF.

PG=Stephen Curry, Shaun Livingston, Nemanja Nedovic
SG=Klay Thompson & Anthony Morrow/Doron Lamb/Troy Daniels
SF=Andre Iguodala, Harrison Barnes, Brandon Rush/Wesley Johnson/Robert Covington

My thoughts exactly. That was the ugliest NBA injury I can remember. This is a long time coming.

He'll backup the 1 and 2 and is big enough to guard some smaller 3's in a three guard lineup. Good pickup.

excellent signing. the Warriors were lost last season w/o super-sub Jarrett Jack. Curry playing PG all the time led to far too many TOs and a lower shooting percentage for him. its pretty difficult to play PG and SG all at once and thats what they required of him him last season. w/ Livingston Curry can get more open looks and not have to always create his own shot (which he's incredible at). it takes so much energy and that leads to careless passes and too many TOs. it was a major oversight by Myers last yr in FA. and clearly their first priority this season. so good job

from what I saw of Livingston last season he looked better than ever. he looked physically stronger than in the past and fairly quick and explosive. impressive considering what he went through early in his career and the number of years he's been in the league. I dont know much about his defense but he should be able to provide some drives to the basket which will take some wear and tear off Curry

Solid pickup! Against the Raptors in the playoffs he was the Nets second best player behind Johnson. He scared me with his length and ability to get to the basket. Interesting how after his injury many years ago no one has really given him a chance with a contract commitment!

My god, the Nets are gonna suck.

What is happening with the Nets? Is the dismantling of the over-priced, aged roster beginning?

The Warriors just got that much better in the PG/SG position! Now to land a healthy/durable C/PF and watch out West coast
