Love at combine was 6'7" 3/4 without shoes. NBA padded him nearly 2 and a half inches. That just nuked your last sentence. Lebron is actually bigger than him in all respects. I don't think Varejao being undersized at 5 needs any annotation. This team would be annihilated by Spurs' flow offense, and/or pounded to pulp by a physical team like Memphis.
Love has had some of his best games against teams like the grizzlies. If you watch his full highlights from games against the grizz, you'll see that he doesn't struggle to get good positioning at the rim against z-bo and gasol. Even blocks z-bo on multiple occassions, cause z-bo isn't able to just push him away.
Regarding the spurs, well to beat the spurs you have to keep the game close, cause they're not exactly clutch (I don't have any stats to prove it), but I've seen them miss a lot of clutch free throws and lose close post season games.
This cavs team is not like miami, where you only have one player, who can create for himself or others/command a double team. Cleveland is basically surrounding love, irving and bron with good shooting. They have multiple scoring options, which means they can keep games close. At the end of close games anything can happen. Miami couldn't keep those games close/got destroyed by the spurs.
So many people who attain the heights of power in this culture—celebrities, for instance—have to make a show of false humility and modesty, as if they got as far as they did by accident and not by ego or ambition.
