Luke Hancock Reaches One-Year Deal With Grizzlies

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Mon Sep 1, 2014 3:11 am

Luke Hancock, a clutch championship shooter at Louisville, has reached agreement on a one-year, league-minimum contract with the Memphis Grizzlies, league sources told RealGM.

Hancock, 24, went undrafted in June after playing two collegiate years at George Mason and his final two for Rick Pitino. As the Most Outstanding Player in the 2013 NCAA tournament, Hancock propelled Louisville to a national championship and went for 22 points and 5-of-5 three-point shooting in the title game against Michigan.

The 6-foot-6 forward averaged 12.3 points and 2.6 rebounds in 36 games last season.

Hancock played for the Orlando Magic and Houston Rockets in the July NBA Summer League.

A good catch-and-shoot guy, really surprised he made the NBA though.

Not sure how he's better than Seth Curry at anything, besides being taller.
It pisses me off that Seth can't get a job in the nba.

Poor mans Steve Novak.

Im not surprised at all. He may not be very athletic or fast or be great at any one thing, but he has a fantastic basketball IQ, plays excellent team defense, is a great in-scheme passer and makes great basketball decisions. His skill set and IQ scream role player potential. He has a solid chance at become a career Keith Askins or Scalabrini type of player.

Luke is a beast.

This. No reason why he can't be a solid to good backup pg in the league. Its nonsense.

Opportunity is crazy. Lol I still think Lester Hudson should be in the league too.
