Miroslav Raduljica Signs Deal With Shandong Lions In China

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Fri Sep 19, 2014 6:46 am

Free agent seven-footer Miroslav Raduljica has signed a one-year contract with Shandong of the Chinese Basketball Association, sources told RealGM.

Raduljica had interest from several NBA teams, including the San Antonio Spurs and Philadelphia 76ers, as well as discussions in Europe. With Gustavo Ayon leaning toward a deal in the European League, a lucrative offer in China formalized for Raduljica.

In the Serbian national team’s Silver medal finish in the World Cup, Raduljica averaged 13 points and 4.6 rebounds over nine games.

Raduljica had a strong rookie season in a limited role for the Milwaukee Bucks in 2013-14, averaging 3.8 points, 2.3 rebounds and 54 percent shooting in 9.7 minutes per game. He was released by the Clippers on Aug. 31 after being traded to Los Angeles for Jared Dudley.

Raduljica, 26, played in his native Serbia and the Ukraine before signing a three-year NBA contract last offseason.

There's gonna be quite a few nba caliber players there this season, could actually be more interesting than some euro competition.

a big LOL for that. China more interesting than europe? thats how you think about EuroLeague?

You cannot compare the national teams to the club teams. the clubs are al lot, and i mean a lot better than most think. there are even some teams which would play a solid role in the eastern conference for example.

Euroleague maybe, but the talent level on eurochallenge or your average european league is pretty sad. Maybe except the Spanish ACB league.

I wouldn't* reject interest of San Antonio Spurs honestly. WHat a wasted chance.

The Greek, Turkish, Russian and Baltic leagues are all head and shoulders above the Chinese league. The way mediocre NBA players are completely dominating over there should tell you enough.

Now if you wanna see a couple NBA caliber players show off without any real competition besides each other, the Chinese league might be more 'interesting' than European basketball.

guys little update. He didn't want to sign for NBA team, because whatever he earned would've been substracted from Clippers account, meaning that he will earn 3m$ instead of earning less than 2m$ if he remained in NBA. Total financial move.

And the Bucks could win it all in Euroleague, so where does that leave China? Sorry Starbury!

Pretty sure they couldn't. Consensus is that the top Euroleague teams are better than all lottery Eastern teams.

Who's consensus? Sergio Rodriguez won Euroleague MVP last year. In his 4 years in the NBA he started 22 games and averaged 4-2-3 on 42% shooting. He and Rudy Fernandez were on the All-Euroleague first team. Rudy left the NBA because he couldn't get playing time. So a couple of decent NBA roll players are the best players in Euroleague. Sometimes we forget how deep the talent in the NBA really is.
