Nuggets Pursuing Alonzo Gee

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Sun Sep 28, 2014 2:18 am

The Denver Nuggets are actively pursuing free agent forward Alonzo Gee, sources with knowledge told RealGM.

Despite dealing with the adversity of three offseason trades and his release from the Sacramento Kings on Thursday, Gee has worked out diligently on his overall game, including improving his jump shot, daily training sessions and getting into the best basketball shape of his career.

Denger expressed interest in Gee with a belief that his abilities fit their system, a five-year NBA veteran who would benefit the Nuggets with athleticism and defense in camp.

In nearly four seasons with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Gee, 27, averaged eight points and four rebounds -- with two years of scoring over 10 points per game.

As an undrafted player in 2009, Gee signed contracts with the Minnesota Timberwolves and Washington Wizards before securing a roster spot with Washington.

I don't think Nuggets are capable of pulling this signing off.

The associated picture here looks hilarious, especially on the front page.

But seriously, Gee is well and truly deserving of a roster spot, he should eventually find him a spot. He's better than all the non-guaranteeds we just signed, I'd take him any day.

Every team wants Gee on their roster this summer.

Quincy Miller? I thought he was a pretty nice looking prospect (and finally healthy)?

dont get me wrong, i still think q miller has an upside and hasnt even scratched the surface but the thing is, denver already has 14 roster spots filled. if quincy makes the team, all of his strengths will go to waste becasue theres people at his position on the team that do his strengths better than he does. at least if denver gets gee, your getting an pretty good athlete who plays hard and is really strong. at times if denver was to come flat, you could throw gee out there and tell him to sick someone on defense and create havoc. i just think gee has some intangibles that quincy doesnt have right now.

that being said, i think another team should pick up quincy, should he be released. he might thrive in a different situation with more min

out of all the pictures to use lol smh but seriously that would be a good addition for Nuggets. nuggets problems are always there health issues. if they can stay healthy for the entire season I think they easily make the playoffs

Fact is that momentum in games is a real thing, while not tangible itself, you can tangibly see the effect it has when teams are on runs and how it can dramatically effect the outcome of games when you can generate any momentum.

Brian Shaw does not look enthused with this news.

I've liked Gee as a player since his days at Alambama. He's definitely worth a roster spot on some NBA team.

Worked diligently on his game
improved his jumper
best shape of his career

oh boy. if the nuggets get him
CHAMPIONSHIP!

as far as every team wanting Gee.. didn't every team have him already? and that's just this offseason.

the kings released him. they didnt want him. the kings need any quality player. if he was good they would have kept him due to there record being what it was. he must not be that good if they released him

Why does realgm pick the absolute WORST picture in history of someone for their articles? Seriously, Shaw looks as if he just snorted an 8 ball in that pick.

Someone needs to do a top 10 list of "Worst realgm headline photos". Dan Gilbert and Adam Silver are probably in the top 5 with Shaw.
