Too much, but hey, compared to the ridiculous never-made-an-All-Star-game-or-even-averaged-20ppg-but-I'm-a max-guy contracts popping up around the league, comparatively its sane.

Close to 14m... eh.... i guess if you have to pay someone on that roster.. 14m isn't 15m or 16m...

almost 14m isn't bad at all for being the franchise player of the team

The term "franchise player" is way overused. He might be their best returning player but he won't be their best player for long. Their franchise player was just traded away for potentially their next franchise player. If Rubio is considered their best player at the end of this year either he has improved a lot or the Wolves are in a lot of trouble

The best player on a terrible team is just a player. No need to label them as anything else.

Rubio has been one of the NBA's most creative passers since coming over from Spain in the 11-12 season.

Two inaccuracies in just one sentence. Rubio has been by far the MOST creative passer since... probably Jason Williams.

And Rubio came over from CATALONIA in the 11-12 season.

Let's see if he can average 9+ assists on a team with no Love.

More max deals for average players coming...

1) I feel for the plight of Catalonia but it is still part of Spain. So his statement may hurt but it was accurate.

2) I love me some Jason Williams but he may have been too creative of a passer. Too often his passes went to the other team or to no one at all. Jason Kid, Cris Paul and Steve Nash are/were all better passers than Rubio or Williams. It's just that these other guy are complete players on offense. All you can say about Rubio or Williams is that they're good passers. (I know Rubio can defend, too.)

It's like an ugly person with nice eyes.... everyone is going to talk about their eyes because no one wants to mention their nose. That doesn't mean they have the best eyes since the last ugly person with nice eyes.

In the winter? Much rather hot as hell. And Phoenix isn't nearly as bad during the winter as it is during the summer, when most NBA players go home or elsewhere to train. I'd much rather deal with a little 90 degree winter heat over -20 degree wind chills in Minneapolis.

17 assist in tonight game (and 4 or 5 more ended in FT). Thats why we are paying him, not for haters.
