Durant: I Can Inspire D.C. Kids From Oklahoma

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Tue Nov 4, 2014 4:08 pm

In an interview on ESPN's Mike & Mike Show, Kevin Durant was asked whether watching the impact of LeBron James returning to his home area of Cleveland could influence his decision on possibly signing with the Washington Wizards.

Durant will become a free agent in 2016 and has been liked to leaving the Thunder for the Wizards.

"I really haven't thought about that, to be honest," said Durant. "I hear it a lot. But I think I can make an impact on the community I grew up from anywhere. So I think I'm doing a good job of that in Oklahoma. My friends, my family, the kids in my neighborhood, are seeing that. I'm inspiring them from Oklahoma City. I really haven't thought about it. I love where I am. I know that sounds cliche and the answer everybody gives, but that's really true from my side of it. I'm sure everybody's watching from afar."

i wish they'd stop asking him that... he's not going to give you a different answer than he already did to show his displeasure of being a thunder if there is any... it's really annoying to have to read this over and over again for 2 years.. even the headline makes my eyes roll..

OKC, Wizards, Raptors, and Lakers are the only real options. Knicks will blow their cap space in 2015.

Wizards and Raptors have the best fit for him.

"I haven't really thought about that"

then says

"I've been asked that a lot"

One of these statements is not true.

Translation...

DC is where I grew up but I probably won't sign there and I like OKC but it's time to move on.

Wonder if he would ever want to take over reins in Lakerland when Kobe retires? Seems like the Lakers always find a legend for every generation...

maybe both is wrong.

he thought about it.
and its not asked before.

*also about his next team there is 3 possibilities:
1-lakers 2-thunder 3-knicks.
*lakers with good picks&and sign durant+1 more max player+2 mle at 2016 would be good team, good town, new legacy chance for durant.
*if knicks get m.gasol and trade away calderon at 2016, with the increase of cap they might offer max to durant to get a melo-durant-gasol big 3.

Otto Porter just got $50 million richer.

ummm no. both are true. he gets asked a lot, but it's noise and quickly forgotten. in other words, he doesn't mull over the question.

Your theory seems very doubtful. It assumes Durant is some sort of empty husk that never thinks about his future options.

Melo and Durant on the same team would be so ugly to watch.

Lol it couldn't be any uglier then durant & westbrook, atleast in NY they would run an actual offensive system, I don't think he'll end up in NY but melo & kd could be effective together in the triangle

He should come to Minnesota.

Rubio/Williams(resigned)
Wiggins/Martin
Durant/Shabazz
Young(resigned)/Bennett
Pekovic/Dieng

Wiggins will become a massive star by then. That team is insane.

I hope he doesn't waste his career in OKC. The ownership has shown that they are incredibly cheap and have no interest in building a completely winning roster. He would be a fool to stay. I kinda hope he goes to Washington. That team would be crazy.
