Pacers, Nets, Clippers Show Interest In Lance Stephenson

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Sun Dec 14, 2014 11:07 pm

The Charlotte Hornets and Indiana Pacers have held preliminary trade talks on Lance Stephenson, according to sources. A deal is not imminent at this point.

The Hornets have been unwilling to attach a draft pick to Stephenson, which would have helped talks with the Pacers.

The Brooklyn Nets and Los Angeles Clippers have also researched Stephenson's time with the Hornets, but aren't serious at this point.

The Hornets signed Stephenson in the offseason.

Please don't Billy King. Also, somebody has already used Photoshop to put Lance in a Pacers jersey. Nice work!

Pacers would be crazy to trade for Lance. Won't end well if it happens.

Pacers seems to have a system in place to handle Lance so I'm not opposed to it.

I do find it hilarious that they seem to be playing hardball to take Lance off of Charlotte's hands though. I mean every trade nowadays has some draft pick ramification.

The Clippers losing in the 2nd round is not a failure. A team who is the number 3 seed is SUPPOSED to lose in the 2nd round. Its not like they are the best team in the NBA and they are losing early. They are going where there record should hypothetically take them. Every time i hear this comment it pisses me off

Chris Paul, the supposed to be 'best PG in the league' has never made it past the second round with any team he has been on. He is not only considered the best PG but also an MVP candidate. He also has Blake Griffin on his team and very good role players , so yes this is a failure for not only the clippers but for Chris Paul's career. A player that is supposed to be as good as Chris Paul is proclaimed to be should be able to lead his team to at least the conference finals ..at least once, especially with the roster he has.

And by the way 2 years ago they lost to the grizzlies in the first round , do you think that's not a failure also ?

Send him to BK. Send everyone to their hometowns at this rate. I love Taj Gibson but I will send him to BK too and Noah to NYC if it means we can get Anthony Davis :D

Hahaha, so the Pacers are trying to trade him back into the team instead of giving him the contract he wanted? Or is it Stephenson who wants to be back since CJ Miles/Solomon Hill aren't working out and are no longer big threats to his minutes?

Did everyone forget about the issues Lance Stephenson was bring in the locker room? I'd rather he not go back to Indy. TBH I'd rather him suffer on Charlotte's bench. He's the definition of Knucklehead and someone I'd hate to play with.

Stephenson for Avery Bradley?

That would be a really bad trade for Boston. Avery is a winner, Lance is just a ball stopper and is a horrible system player.

I'd prefer we go after Joe Johnson instead of this pos guy. Our biggest need is at SF not SG.

You really wanna deal with that contract? And I think the Clips need upgrades at both SG and SF. J.J. Redick nor Matt Barnes are starters. It's not my team but just based from observation, I think those guys are better suited for the bench.

IMO both those players you mentioned are solid backups on a contender. Lance is still not the answer though.
