Dwyane Wade Pulls Out Of All-Star Game

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Tue Feb 10, 2015 8:11 pm

Dwyane Wade will not participate in the 2015 NBA All-Star Game due to a strained right hamstring.

Wade has been out of the past six games for the Miami Heat.

Adam Silver will select Wade's replacement on the Eastern Conference.

Wade will still go to New York this weekend for some off-court events.

Korver is replacing him. What a joke the All-Star game has become. If Atlanta deserves 4 representatives, why doesn't Golden State?

I know Korver is having a crazy shooting year, but it still seems like the strangest all star selection ever. Maybe Jamaal Magloires' selection is up there too.

Why does Silver pick the replacement? Shouldn't it be based on the amount of votes received? Or does that go out the window when injuries are in question...

Two reasons:
1) Depth of field - There are too many good players out West. There is nobody left on GSW that deserves it more than Monte Ellis or Dirk?
2) Atlanta doesn't have one or two standout best players like GSW. They are doing as a team and are being rewarded as such.

The commissioner always picks injury replacements. I would like to see it go back to the coaches vote but this is how it's been.
