Kyle Korver Named To All-Star Game

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Wed Feb 11, 2015 2:11 am

Kyle Korver has been named to the Eastern Conference All-Star team as an injury replacement for Dwyane Wade.

“We would like to thank Commissioner Silver for selecting Kyle as an All-Star. He is an integral part of our team and we are extremely proud that Kyle will be able to join his teammates Al, Paul and Jeff in being recognized this weekend,” said Mike Budenholzer. “This is a positive reflection on all of the work the entire team, coaching staff and organization has put in this season.”

Korver is averaging 12.9 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 33.2 minutes (52 starts), and is second in the NBA in effective FG% (.707) and fourth in +/- ratio (+461). He has scored in double-figures 37 times, including six 20-point outings. He has made four-or-more three’s in a game 22 times.

As much as I like Korver, he should'nt be the one replacing Wade when Brandon Knight, Al Jefferson, Nik Vucevic or Andre Drummond are not on the team.

Terrible Pick. More deserving people should of been selected. But I guess if you are on a winning team that's more important

Heck, even Kevin Love with a 17 and 10 stat line on a winning team deserves it more imo

Jefferson? Drummond? Before Korver?

LOL @ NBA,

Digging deep into marketing to make hawks look better for potential sale. I love how the NBA have been trying to show case them like crazy. No doubt having a great season and best team in the LEASTERN conference. But come on 4 Allstars in 1 team, really.

So teams like Bucks who are 5th or 6th in the east don't have one, Klove who is a better player and stat wise doesn't get in. There are WAY more deserving players who do more things in the game than ( stand around waiting for a pass to launch a 3 ).

Toronto #2 in the east only has 1 player in the AS.

IMO Wade shouldn't even been picked to begin with. Hasn't had a stable season in years.
He can produce, but it's evident he doesn't deserve it more than others.

Korver's playing well, but no All-Star. Would you build a team around this guy? NOPE!

I'm glad for him. 50%+ FG, 50%+ 3pt and 90%+ FT in one of the best teams in the league should be rewarded.

Yep... and the negativity on these boards is hysterical. Korver is doing something borderline historical while his team is absolutely rolling. Where is the love? If he keeps this up people will be talking about his play this season 30 years from now. Can you say that about anybody else this year? He is hands down the best shooter in the game right now... but he doesn't deserve a spot in the ASG? It's because basketball isn't about shooting, right? We know what basketball is really about. Where's his highlight reel? What's his vertical?

People talk like what he's doing is easy. If that's the case, why is he the only one doing it?

I love Kyle Korver the person, but this is comical. Let the overloving of the Hawks continue.

Make no mistake, Hawks is a very good team. But Korver is the best shooter in the game? Umm, please. There's a huge difference between a spot up shooter who is 3rd or 4th offensive option in the team to a real all star main offensive weapon like Curry, or even K Thompson who plays both end of the floor. Not to mention those guys still average 20+ a game. There is also a big difference between West and East conference. The fact that Korver is named a an all star only highlight the talent level in the East is pretty sad, or Silver did it for marketing purpose for the Hawks.
