Russell Westbrook had another triple double in his first game back from a facial fracture.
Westbrook, who wore a protective mask, finished the overtime win with 49 points, 16 rebounds and 10 assists.
“It was OK,” Westbrook said of the mask. “It was weird, obviously. Keep wiping it and it was a total big process of trying to keep everything from not fogging up. But it’s not going to stop me. My job is to come out there and lead my team.”

Damn, dude is a monster! 4th straight triple double and doing it efficiently, too. It's a close race for MVP, between him and Curry, but I would have to it give to Westbrook. Based on the fact that he dug OKC out of the bottom and into the playoffs.

I can't put my finder on it, but for some reason I really don't like Westbrook. He's a high volume, volatile, aggressor, who thinks (although probably accurately) that he is better than everyone. Reminds me a lot of Kobe, and I can't stand Kobe. I wish I liked Westbrook and could be excited about his play lately, but I just can't root for the guy.

Well, increasingly efficient anyway. I think the second TD he shot like 31% and went 1-10 from 3pt. And you have to question a team that requires a performance like that to beat the 76ers in OT!

Go ahead and ignore the fact that the team is missing their best player

If KD is the teams best player, how is Westbrook the MVP?
Plus the Bulls just beat OKC with Butler, Gibson and Rose all out. Good teams find a way to win. When KD or Westbrook are out OKC is 1 dimensional. I'm guessing we'll see a coaching change soon.

Shooting efficiency is similar, but then they are far different players. Honestly, I don't know if Kobe has ever had as good a season as Westbrook is having this season.

Have you not been paying attention to how the season is going for OKC? Durant is currently injured and has been, for most of the regular season. You can't deny what Westbrook has done, to keep their hopes of making the post-season alive.
There are a number of reasons why OKC isn't as good as Houston or Golden State. They don't have a great supporting cast around their star players, ownership not willing to spend and... I guess you can also say coaching staff.

basketball is a team game. one man cant win alone. this is what Westbrook needs to learn. he is putting up historic numbers and the team is still losing; even games where they have a commanding lead in the 4th Q. its not about stats, its about wins. the other players arent involved at all. and thats Russ' fault for being the alpha dog on every play. he has to be the one to take the shot or make the pass on every play. he's icing out his own teammates. it would be much easier to win if everyone was doing their part. one player shouldnt be taking 30-40 shots every game. its isolation basketball every time down the court. Scott Brooks is a lousy coach. there is no system and never has been. its give the ball to Russ. not only is this bad for the team its horrible for Westbrook. he's putting himself in danger by playing this way. he's an incredible athlete but he's abusing his body by trying to do too much every game. he's getting hurt on a regular basis bc of this one-on-five strategy. Thunder management needs to have a talk w/ the coach and Russ before something serious happens. besides its not good for team chemistry. how can other players contribute when they arent touching the ball? basketball doesnt have to be this hard. theres a reason you have teammates. let them help you win. that means keeping everyone involved and playing as a team

Yes, I am aware. KD and Westbrook are 2 of the top players in the league but OKC is not a great team. Your second paragraph made my point for me.
