Kevin Durant Removed From Basketball Activities

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Fri Mar 20, 2015 4:33 pm

Kevin Durant has been removed from all basketball activities by the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Durant first underwent surgery on his right foot before the season and returned faster than expected.

Durant underwent a second minor procedure in February to relieve soreness.

Durant was getting closer to a return before suffering a relapse of soreness this week.

Handing the drivers seat over the Mr. Westbrook + co.

Will this be the last season we see KD in an OKC uniform?

Seems like any non-Lebron MVP's get the next year(s) off

KD has another year on his contract. he is UFA in 2016 summer.

They'll probably miss the playoffs, win the lottery, get Okafor, and come back at full strength next year and win 75 games.

Should've taken Oden.

Wouldn't they have to shut down Russell Westbrook for that to happen as well?

Maybe. They probably make it anyway but if AD is healthy and GS decides to rest players against the Pels (they play twice) to avoid a possible matchup with OKC, the Pelicans might have a chance of getting it.

The only person he'd be worth trading for is AD but I doubt the Pels would do it.

Rule 1 of drafting, don't choose a player who had bad injuries in high school and in college, it seldom works out. I never understood the choice then and now.

If you mean to tank the rest of the way, yeah, but not to miss the playoffs. I think they'll miss it without Durant and Ibaka the rest of the way, that's if Durant is to me the next 30+ days.

trading KD is like rob babcock trading VC. how has it worked out for babcock? he's never had a job again. you'd rather him walk for nothing than to trade him away for high draft picks. presti is still taking heat for trading away harden. presti will never get a job again if he trades away KD. guys like KD, you let them walk and get boo'd for the rest of their careers. plus, even if he decides to sign elsewhere, OKC would likely do a sign and trade and would still ultimately get SOMETHING in return, whether a pick or trade exception or whatnot.

Been dealing with a Jones fracture.....same injury that took out Yao Ming, Bill Walton. I thought KD wouldn't have much trouble with this because he's lighter in weight than those two, but that's moot because the area needs sufficient blood flow to heal the joint. That area just doesn't get much and it hinders the recovery.

Bottom line is they brought KD back way too soon, they panicked when they got off to the slow start. No way was he suppose to return before Christmas Day, most had him coming back by late February. Now their playoff hopes look bleak, I don't think they'll beat out New Orleans.

I think the 'Blazers just felt too pressured by the possibility of missing out on the next great big man. Either that, ORRRRR... they knew Durant would eventually succumb to injuries, too, and they didn't want to give their fans 5 years of false hope haha

I'll take 7 full years + a 27 game year over + NBA Finals over what Oden provided everyday of the week. I'm not sure what happens from here on out, but we have way too little information to work with to say Durant wont continue to be a top 5 player for many years to come.
