Horrible move by Dakari Johnson and Devin Booker.

They could have inflated their stats next year and become higher draft picks. Neither player had impressive seasons.

I'll take Marcus Lee over Dakari any day of the week.

i think lyles should stay one more year
he can push his stock to top 10 when giving more playing time

I am not so sure any of these guys made a mistake or that it was a horrible move. Even if Lyles, Johnson and Booker go later in the first they get their deals guaranteed and they get to start their Professional careers earlier aka more money. Yeah maybe they could have gotten more playing time and gone higher but they would be risking injury and even if they go higher do they get that much more money per year than they would now. Meanwhile they also lose another year professionally. So I don't view it as a mistake for those guys. Now if any fall to the second round then it gets tough as they don't get those guaranteed deals and would have to fight to prove they belong in the NBA. But as for Lee he didn't impress any more than Johnson and certainly not Booker. Booker actually had a decent season got some pretty good playing time and showed that he could possibly be a very good shooter and teams take a chance on shooters in the later part of the first. Plus Kentucky has another stellar class coming in and enough returning talent to where that much more playing time wouldn't be guaranteed for these guys.

There are guys every year who should reconsider leaving early. We as fans have no idea what their thought process is to why they are declaring early. You are right though. One more season with improvements would do him wonders.
