Bucks To Pursue Brook Lopez, Tyson Chandler

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Fri Jun 12, 2015 6:11 am

The Milwaukee Bucks created max space with their trade of Ersan Ilyasova to the Detroit Pistons and have identified Brook Lopez and Tyson Chandler as targets.

Jason Kidd played with Chandler in both Dallas and New York, while he coached Lopez with the Nets.

Chandler is 32 and would give the Bucks a veteran rim protector, while Lopez is still just 27 and would help improve their offense. Lopez has a player option for the 15-16 season.

The Bucks also would be willing to pursue DeAndre Jordan, but they don't see him as a realistic target.

Tyson is washed up and Lopez is hella injury prone... But I hope the Bucks get Lopez, will only increase the BK first rounders we got in the KG/Pierce trade

Hope they don't.
Would prefer Kosta Koufos + RFA Mozgov for about 12m/year in total...
For the same money spent for either Chandler or Lopez the Bucks can get 2 Centers doing almost similar things !!!
Chandler is old , Lopez can't rebound well, and doesn't pass well ... both expensive for their skills
Draft picks: '15 Jerian Grant, '16 Thon Maker, '17 Isaiah Hartenstein/*John Collins, '18 TD Devonte Graham, Hamidou Diallo, '20 Sam Merrill, Killian Tillie, '21 Joe Wieskamp, '22 TU C.Braun/G.Procida '23 Tristan Vukcevic/Maxwell Lewis

I'd rather Chandler in this situation. I see the bucks as an uptempo team moving forward. They're lengthy and quick at every position right now. Adding Brolo would just slow them down and his knees probably wouldn't be able to handle all that running. DeAndre would be an even better option, but that seems highly doubtful for a small market team.

Sounds like they want to veteran big to play with all their young players I can't blame them after what happened with Sanders.

Ummmm... Didn't Kidd hate BroLo when they were together on the Nets?

No.. he only had him for 20 games or so. He was beasting while the team was failing which is why I think the fit is odd. But no, he never had anything bad to say about Brook and I don't think he blamed their struggles on him considering the dozen or more other factors leading to their terrible start.

Brook Lopez is expected to get max offers from multiple teams who aren't contenders. He will be offered the four year max by the bucks on July 1 and the only way he stays in Brooklyn is if nets counter with the 5 year max. Nets have no choice but to resign him to be a one and done playoff team for the next three seasons because they can't build through the draft - they traded their picks and swapping rights to Boston in the failed KG-Pierce trade which will go down as one of the worst in nba history. And I'm pretty sure top free agents like kevin Durant do not want to play for Brooklyn if Billy King is the GM and Deron Williams is the pg. Pretty sure Blazers will go after Lopez with the max if Aldridge leaves - blazers offered lopez a max deal the last time he was an rfa and the opportunity to reunite brothers may be to good to pass up.

I would give Brook Lopez a max contract. He is a bunch of empty stats.

Didnt Kidd See Chandler getting man-handled and destroyed by a Player Like hibbert two years ago?

Why would you have that over-rated defender anywhere near your team? hes not even worth the vet min.
