Lakers Pursuing Trade For DeMarcus Cousins

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Mon Jun 22, 2015 8:55 pm

The Los Angeles Lakers have been actively pursuing trade scenarios with the Sacramento Kings on DeMarcus Cousins.

Vlade Divac, told the Sacramento Bee in Sunday's editions that dealing away his best player "is not happening."

The Lakers, Kings and Orlando Magic have had exploratory dialogue on a three-way Cousins trade.

The Lakers lack many assets beyond the second overall pick and Julius Randle.

That price is too steep to be worth it. Mortgaging your future for a mercurial, albeit UBER talented big man wouldn't be the most sound decision. Maybe the 2 and Randle or Clarkson (who I'm not keen on giving up). But I think the Lakers should stay the course and allow these young guys to learn from Kobe's work ethic and pray that Byron doesn't stunt their growth too much with his "old school" basketball ethos. Then next year when Kobe's off the books we can let go of Byron and use that late lottery pick and a free agent signing to accelerate the rebuild. STAY THE COURSE MITCH!!!

Yep but I would imagine thats what they would want from the Lakers, Minny could give up a better package and still stay competitive.

If you think Lakers getting Boogie for any price is a bad idea you must be on that dope or not watch NBA basketball. There is a reason Divac dosent wanna give this guy up his a young unreal talented center who started off on a bad team an had the media on his ass about attitude. This year he had a great season an his only gonna get better. Nothing lakers have is even close to a sure thing and Boogie is a sure thing. This is a NO BRAINIER for the Lakers atm if Boogie is available you get him period.

The Lakers have no one of value to trade for Cousins, unless they are going to trade their 2nd pick which would be stupid of them, since Jahlil has more upside to Boogie Cousins. The main thing is that Boogie is too hot-head, and putting him with a Kobe who is straight up assassin that might stir up trouble big time.

Yes obviously, Cousins in on his way to the HOF, but Jahlil, he could be the GOAT.

Somehow I doubt it was the Kings side putting Cousins' name in this rumor.

Yeah Vlade is going to trade his best asset in DC to the Lakers, the team that destroyed the Kings dynasty, keep it moving

why would the Kings be interested in trading away their only good player? that doesnt make any sense so I'm going to assume its more fabricated rumors by teams who want DeMarcus. trying to make him even more disgruntled w/ Kings management eventually resulting in DeMarcus making a trade demand. which is probably only a matter of time.
that #2 pick isnt anywhere close to enough for DeMarcus. I dont think the Lakers have any other tradeable assets. maybe DeMarcus for #2, (Magic)#5 and Julius Randle or Aaron Gordon. Kings still wont do it though. bc all those players are unproven and very likely busts, whereas DeMarcus is a top 10 player in the NBA

Lol it's not like Okafor is the best thing to come out of college since LeBron, if you can get a player as good as Cousins for him, then you do it.
