Rodney Stuckey Eyes Deal With Contender

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Fri Jun 26, 2015 7:50 pm

After a productive season on the competing Indiana Pacers, Rodney Stuckey has plans to sign with a contender in free agency, with the Houston Rockets expected to be among interested teams, league sources told RealGM.

Stuckey has a desire to be in a competing situation again next season, but will still prioritize a possible return to Indiana where there is strong mutual interest. Stuckey scored 12.6 points in 26.4 minutes per game last season for Indiana, flourishing in Frank Vogel’s offensive system and providing stability as a starter or reserve.

Stuckey also averaged 3.5 rebounds and 3.1 assists in his return to a ball-handling role on a playoff threat in the Eastern Conference. The Sacramento Kings are also expected to express a level of interest in Stuckey, scouring for an available combo guard, a source said. Several contending teams could emerge for Stuckey during the free agency process.

Spending seven of his first eight seasons with the Pistons, Stuckey rose into a cornerstone player early in his Detroit career. He averaged 16.6 points, 4.8 assists and 3.9 rebounds in 2009-10, but the franchise fell in the East and left scattered roles within the team.

Stuckey has averages of 13.3 points and 3.8 assists over his NBA career. The 6-foot-5 guard was the Pistons’ 15th overall selection in the 2007 NBA draft out of Eastern Washington.

Wouldnt mind the Pacers resigning him but I get feeling that there will be several teams thatll offer up more than what he is worth.

Anyone collect sports cards? back when Rodney Stuckey was a rookie I bought a box of SPX basketball and pulled a 1 of 1 Rookie Logoman autograph of Rodney Stuckey. I think I sold it for around $400 wonder what it would be worth now. Imagine pulling the Kevin Durant one. I hate being poor now I miss cards so much

With the decline in ball card values and lack of intrest in the hobby the Stucky card wouldn't be woth more than $5. A Durant card would be worth more. About 1994 I paid $500 for a Nolan Ryan Topps 1969 rookie card it was Near Mint. In 2011 I sold it for $125. :banghead:

With West opting out we have a little bit more financial flexibility. It would be really nice if we could afford to have him back.

Then here's list of teams he should really be interested in:

Grizzles
Spurs
Bulls
Hawks
Wizards
Cavs

That's pretty much it. Warriors are mostly going to keep there core; Blazers might fall off, Mavs are PRETENDERS, and Rockets already have a ball dominate player in James Harden.

That's what I thought at first, but like I said who knows we stole him last summer, that's not happening again. I would sure like to have him at $5-5.5 million but it may take $8 million, and I doubt the pacers give him that much.

Yeah there is no way the pacers get him for 3 years 5 million it would be a stretch if we could get him for 5 mil. A season .. hope we can get him back though he was very solid
