Lakers Pursuing Significantly More Cap Space

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Tue Jun 30, 2015 11:11 pm

The Los Angeles Lakers are attempting to create significantly more salary cap space to pursue free agent deals to both LaMarcus Aldridge and DeAndre Jordan.

ESPN's Kevin Pelton writes that the Lakers would have to trade away everyone on their roster short of Kobe Bryant to create enough space to sign both Aldridge and Jordan to their full max contracts.

No chance...anyway won't be good for the Lakers. DeAndre is looking for more offensive role, which he wouldn't have in a team with, Kobe, LaMarcus and Russell.

Get LaMarcus this year and KD next year and there is the winning Lakers for the next 6 or 7 years...picture this in 2016:

Russell
Clarkson
Durant
Aldrige
Lopez (Robin)

So they have to get rid of russell, randle and clarkson to add a guy who can't hit free throws. There better off signing aldridge and trying to pry hibbert's expiring deal from the pacers. Aldridge and Hibbert are friends who wanted to play together in the past in Portland. A change of scenery and playing next to Aldridge could revive Hibbert's career back to an allstar and DPOY candidate.

It will take them more than 3 first round picks to unload the crappy contract of Kobe's.

Trade Nick Young, Ryan Kelly and 2 2nd round picks for the Haywood contract.

Kobe is 100% untradeable not just based on his health and declining performance but the fact he has a no-trade clause and would block any trade not involving some big market contender. If he was willing to move he'd probably want to go somewhere like Miami, Dallas, New York or Chicago.

Sixers say, give us Russell in return for absorbing Kobe's salary plus your pick back next year. :D
