Wizards Exploring Trade Of Nene

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Fri Jul 3, 2015 3:20 pm

The Washington Wizards are shopping Nene this offseason.

Washington would like to trade Nene into another team's cap space to create room to sign David West.

The Denver Nuggets traded Nene to the Wizards in 2012 just months after signing him to a new contract.

I'd take him on the Raptors if they'd eat some of the salary

A make sense trade it to Utah for Booker,
Washington sends Nene and future 1st
Utah sends Booker.

Booker can be cut by July 31, and he wont count against the cap, so Washington gets capspace.
Utah gets a pick asset, and preserves the cap space

Do the Knicks have any assets to make this happen? I don't know their team well enough to know what they have to offer, but it seems like he could play next to Robin Lopez the way he did next to Gortat. That wasn't a perfect fit, and this wouldn't be either, but it would contribute to their win-now mentality that comes from having Melo.

I'd like to see him in LA. I think he could run the pick and roll nicely with Russell and would be an interesting fit alongside Randle. Don't know who LA would give up for him though.

Could a sign and trade with the Pacers and David West work? Obviously the Pacers would want to "rework" the Nene contract some.

Lakers should jump on this. With just 1 yr and $13M left on the books he is the best 1 yr rental the Lakers can get. He is respectable as a starter and he is a veteran. Do it.

Hibbert and Noah are also available 1 year rentals.

Um isn't David West a step down from Nene?

Gortat was complaining that he wants a stretch 4. So, David West really is a step down.

Hibbert can't play uptempo, Nene can. Noah may or may not be available. Noah is the best option of the three but also the hardest to get.

Not in my book or apparently in Washington's either. West is old, true enough but he is a capable pick n pop PF, something that Wall has stated that he wants. Nene is not as good a floor spacer as West. The Wiz want spacing.
