Proof to Knicks fans that the 2nd overall pick isn't always going to be a superstar. Who would you rather have Derrick Williams or Tristan Thompson (4th overall)?
Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming

Tristan Thompson. Although in a vacuum he has not dominated against elite players at his position. This post season break out was partially due to the match ups. Chicago = tall players who are thin like Gibson, Noah, Gasol. Atlanta = Undersized players like Milsap, Mike Scott and Horford(who mostly guarded Mosgov). Golden State = small ball line ups. Can he do the same against Zebo, Dwight, Deandre, Blake, Duncan, The Brow or Marc Gasol? Maybe but we won't know until it happens. Match ups are everything.

The knicks may not be getting any top tier players, but its unquestionable that theyre adding better players than what they had last season. Afflalo is a proven consistent shooter & scorer when given starter minutes which will be heavy being the best shooter on the roster right now. Lopez is a solid center that helps team chemistry. Derrick williams may finally produce solidly being a likely starter at only $5mil a season. This team being built looks to have far better chemistry than last season, which goes a long way in improving the team culture. They should have a shot at an low seed seed if they dont force the triangle with this group. The triangle offense needs smart bball IQ players, which they just dont have yet.

Not too bad of a signing considering the fact that NY doesn't really have much pull in the market. He averaged just under 9ppg, 5rpg in about 20mpg in his 2 seasons in Sac.. He stats don't look that bad per 36 mins but definately a horrible 3pt shooter.

Obviously Tristan Thompson, but he was the # 4 pick. They're both busts relative to when they were drafted

Cavs obviously don't think he was a bust given that they just signed him for $80 million.

The Cavs aren't exactly known for making smart decisions. They just signed an $80 million dollar role player that comes off the bench. He's a glorified Reggie Evans.

why? ever since he got drafted Derrick Williams has been an unmotivated, out of shape bum. theres no upside here. the guy has no work ethic or desire to be anything more than a lousy bench player. this is a step backwards for an already lost franchise

knick fans are the worse, they always want something now now now, well too bad you guys are in a semi rebuild mode, get ready for some wins and most of all some loses. The FA market is basically role players n scrubs now, you guys don't have any good trade assets either so what are you guys even complaining about?
