Philadelphia 76ers rookie Richaun Holmes has been diagnosed with a fractured elbow in Utah and faces a six-to-eight week recovery timetable, league sources told RealGM.

Out of Bowling Green, Holmes cemented himself as rising draft prospect at the Portsmouth Invitational and went 37th overall to the 76ers in the June NBA Draft.

Holmes averaged 9.7 points, 4.7 rebounds and one block in three games before suffering the broken elbow in Thursday’s summer league game. The 6-foot-8 forward continued to play through the injury, checking back into the game after his fall.

Holmes, 21, hopes to be fully healthy by the 76ers’ training camp in the fall and could be in line for a contract as a second rounder.

A two-way big man, Holmes averaged 14.8 points and eight rebounds in his senior season in 2014-15.
