Wolves Sign Nick Wiggins, Kleon Penn To Camp Deals

The Minnesota Timberwolves have signed Nick Wiggins and Kleon Penn to non-guaranteed camp deals.

Nick Wiggins is the older brother of Andrew Wiggins. Wiggins played at Wichita State and was in the D-League last season after going undrafted.

Penn went undrafted out of McNeese State in 2009.

They just want more bodies in camp so why not keep it in the family. Nick might not be an NBA caliber player but he is definitely practice squad material.

I'll add him to the Hornets bench.
Hornets starting 5 will probably be:
C: Anthony Davis
PF: Frank Kaminsky
SF: Andrew Wiggins
SG: Vince Carter (PRIME Raptors version)
PG: Michael Jordan

He's super athletic, and he's a shooter. He's not a rotation player, but is situational and isn't old

Different situations. Cavs are dealing with a dumb agent who convinced his player he's MAX caliber when hes not.

Yeah, I am kind of surprised people can really be bothered with this, haha. He is simply a generic training camp body that happens to have very good connections to the team. Sam Mitchell just coached Kleon Penn over the summer, people with connections are generally the ones that obtain training camp deals.

As stated, Nick has an 'in' with the team and makes for an athletic body in training camp. People are being a bit silly in thinking this is some ploy to keep Andrew Wiggins in town. We have eight more years of Andrew Wiggins, we do not need to sign his brother to keep him eight years from now. :lol:

My line-up won't even be close to the best in the NBA, because i put all the all-time great players into the NBA rosters.
My Hornets roster will have the regular Hornets players on the bench, so only my starting 5 will be great (and it won't the greatest, cos Wiggins/Kaminsky are not all-time greats).
Whereas the other teams in the NBA will have all-time greats on their bench and at every position.
Anthony Davis will have to go up against guys like Wilt, Russell, Shaq, Ewing, Robinson and Olajuwon.
And Kaminsky will have to go up against guys like Karl Malone, Kevin McHale and Prime TIm Duncan etc.
And Wiggins will face Dominique Wilkins and greats like that.
I probably won't even be in the top 20 teams talent-wise, i'll be an underdog and if i win the championship it will be because my hands are so skillful etc.

I agree he is just a training camp body, but I agree with OP as well. It's another small thing they can do to try to keep Andrew happy because it seems like the Raptors are gonna build their team around Wiggins, TT, CoJo, Stauskus and Olynyk as the starting line up (not saying it's necessarily good but they seem to be going for the canadans)
