Derrick Rose converted a pass from Nikola Mirotic in Friday's game that was initially ruled a dunk, which would have been his first of the season.

But the official play-by-play was later changed to a layup.

Rose described it as a "very high layup," adding: "But I'm getting close."

Rose would like to get back to playing above the rim after years of injuries.

"When I first came back from the (torn left) ACL, it was all about testing out everything," he said. "I wanted to see how it would feel if I did this certain move, that certain move. Then it was (a torn meniscus in) the right knee. I'm just happy I'm playing consistent games."

He may be racking up games played, but he is not really playing basketball. He is a net negative on the floor. He needs to have different goals or a different timeline. He has -.3 win shares this year. Worst on the team despite being second in minutes played.

in fact if you look at all players this year getting at least 300 minutes there are only 11 players with less 0.1 WS. Rose is the only one on a play-off or >0.500 ball club.

In the same category as Nik Staukas, D'Angelo Russell, Kobe Bryant, Randy Foye, Mudiay, Mark. Morris, Paul pierce, etc.
