Billy King To Serve As Advisor In Nets' GM Search

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Sun Jan 10, 2016 11:47 pm

Billy King is expected to advise ownership on its search for his successor as general manager of the Brooklyn Nets.

Mikhail Prokhorov pushed King out of the job.

Rod Thorn had played a part in hiring King upon Thorn's departure from the Nets in 2010, but Thorn had resigned his position.

The Nets surrendered seven first round picks, including five of their own, and 11 second rounders to chase instant success during the tenure of King.

Why did the majority owner had to push Billy King out of the job? He can not simply fire him just like how the coach got fired? Do the other Nets owner/board support Billy King being the GM?

Holy cow, it is *never* a good idea to let the person you're replacing help find their replacement. Like King is going to go look for the guy that will make him look even worse? Why not get Hollins to help with the search as well?

What happens if he recommends himself for the job?

They did the same **** with Rod Thorn, who advised on hiring Billy King, and that worked out just fine, didn't it ?

I hope I don't need to green text this, do I ?

For the last 5 years the Nets have been the worst managed team in the NBA, hands down.

To be honest, I hate everything about that franchise right now. Their clueless owner, their incompetent GM, their disgraceful backcourt, Joe Johnson's 25 million per salary.

The # 1 rule for building a successful franchise is DRAFT WELL. You can't do that when you trade away your picks every damn year.

lol BK negotiated an advisor role cause he knows no other nba team in their right mind will ever hire him again. Rod Thorn negotiated an advisor role because he wanted to leave the nets but still get paid while he was looking for another job which he did.
