Dmitry Razumov Played Major Role In Nets' Trade For Garnett, Pierce

Billy King spent his tenure with the Brooklyn Nets in constant "win-now" mode.

Mikhail Prokhorov and his chief basketball lieutenant, Dmitry Razumov, approved every move made by King.

Razumov reportedly played a major role in the Nets' trade for Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce, which will send their 2016, 2017 (pick swap) and 2018 first rounders to the Boston Celtics.

"He still thinks they're only a year away from competing," a veteran team executive said Monday. "You're like three or four years away."

Of course people signed off on these deals but King is still the responsible party. He brokered them. He decided to send high draft picks for aging, overpaid vets in multiple deals. He decided that the price for KG and Pierce was fair. Billy King made a bunch of trades in his 5-6 years in charge and lost every single one of them. Bad hire. Bad GM.
