Joining Bryan Colangelo as a candidate for the Brooklyn Nets' general manager position is Danny Ferry.

Ferry was interviewed by Mikhail Prokhorov for the job back in 2010 before Billy King was hired.

Ferry's father, Bob Ferry, is still employed by the Nets as a scout.

Ferry was forced to step down as general manager of the Atlanta Hawks last year due to a power struggle within the organization and racially insensitive comments made about Luol Deng.

Ferry helped build the Hawks into the Eastern Conference's best regular season team last year.

Ferry also ripped the nets off big time in the Joe Johnson trade - dumping a bad contract in exchange for expiring deals and draft picks/swaps.

In short, he is a shrewd GM. This is the kind of guy you want for this job.

can only assume this means the Nets think that Billy King "had a little too much African in him"
