K.J. McDaniels Commits Five Fouls In 10 Seconds On Andre Drummond

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Thu Jan 21, 2016 4:13 am

The Houston Rockets used K.J. McDaniels to commit five immediate intentional fouls upon Andre Drummond to begin the second half as they trailed the Detroit Pistons. McDaniels committed five fouls in the first 10 seconds of the quarter.

The Rockets wanted to immediately put the Pistons in the penalty to force Drummond to shoot free throws.

"Anything for my teammates. I know they'd do anything for me," said McDaniels.

The Rockets took the lead in less than three minutes by fouling Drummond on every possession.

The Pistons were forced to remove Drummond from the game.

While Drummond finished the game 13-for-16 from the line, the Pistons won the game 123-114.

"Drummond finished the game 13-for-16 from the line"

Wow, that's pretty good. That's over 80%. I didn't know Drummond was such a good free throw shooter.

He shot 13-36 from the line, not 13-16. Wouldn't make sense for them to be "forced to remove him from the game" if he was shooting at that kind of a clip.

He will get a Max deal and we will be forced to watch him fail to make free throws over and over and over again.

Who thinks the rockets employed the strategy too early? I was talkin with someone about it personally who couldn't decide but I also heard the rockets announcer say this. It was def a surprise to the pistons, but had it been say like after about 4-5 mins instead of right away, the game could of been a W.

The way they were playing, the pistons would have been up 20 by that point. The rockets played no defense the entire night and tried to make up for it with hack a dre.

This BS has got to stop......

The league should make a new rule....when a deliberate foul is called, any member of the opposing team that is on the floor can be selected by the opposing teams coach to shoot those foul shots....

That would certainly stop these ridiculous BS games where the play is delayed while they shoot free throws...

The NBA needs to act and act right away....

Or you know... a player making millions of dollars can learn to shoot a **** free throw.

I do think the player being fouled should shoot his own free throws. The problem I have is these are generally obvious intentional fouls so why are they never being called as such. 2 shots and the ball. If the risk of an intentional foul being called is there then the fouling will stop.

This ridiculous hack-a-? has been banned from internatonal basketball years ago. (Every foul far away from the ball results in a Technical Foul)

I wonder why the NBA refuses to do anything against this when the rest of the world has found an easy and efficient solution to protect the quality of the game ?

Well that is true....And I think such a rule already exists?

But why not "knee jerk" that a bit by demanding something along the lines of what I proposed?

I mean, quite a few of the talking heads have complained on air about these types of games where it's all about "hack a Shaq" and even they seem to get nowhere with their arguments....

So perhaps the fans need to start bitching to the league office?

The team being hack can stop the hack by going the other team and then take the player out.

Actually, I think the best to send those who cannot shoot to D League

Look at how many comments this topic has generated here alone. It's a controversial topic and it gets people talking about the NBA. The NBA likes when people are talking about the NBA. That is why they have no problem with it. As long as ratings aren't being affected and it's creating attention for the league on social media, they have no reason to change something that is benefiting them.

If people want it changed, change the channel every time it happens and stop talking about it after the game, and the league will change it. They have literally said it will be changed once ratings become affected, so it's on us as viewers to start turning the channel for 5 minutes every time it starts.

Shaquille O'neal would have spent his entire HOF career in the D league. Bummer.
