Knicks Considering Signing Tim Frazier, Ray McCallum

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Wed Mar 2, 2016 10:45 pm

The New York Knicks are considering signing Ray McCallum or Tim Frazier.

The Knicks also met with Tony Wroten but he's a less likely candidate than McCallum or Frazier.

Jimmer Fredette won't be re-signed on another 10-day contract.

New York has also ruled out signing Ty Lawson.

Here's an idea, how about letting Jimmer actually try and play before looking for someone else? The guy played 6 minutes over 5 games? Why pay a guy $32,000 to play for 6 minutes? If that was a publicity stunt as was suggested, then it completely backfired. The Knicks need a point guard that can score. Galloway is a good defender but man he is terrible on offense. Jimmer is probably equally as terrible at defense than Galloway is on offense, but at least Galloway is getting 22 minutes a game. If either Frazier or McCallum get signed and play significant minutes, I will be pretty frustrated.

Couldn't agree more. Why not give Jimmer a chance. What could it have hurt. The Knicks stuggled scoring in all the games they lost when Anthony went to the bench for rest. Jimmer could have been great on the second team. SMH. On the bright side, this Tim Frazier kid looks good. He almost averaged a triple double in the D-League. The kid can play. I'd like to see him actually get some playing time if the Knicks sign him.

More 10-day contracts I assume? Because Jose Calderon is a young developing PG who deserves a lot of minutes? Just sign these guys to guaranteed deals for the year... How is McCallum not already snatched up off waivers? This is puzzling.

If they don't sign ray mc it would be a big mistake. So many jimmer advocates I don't get it, 32gs is nothing for a billion dollar franchise. He'll give up twice as many buckets as hell put in so he's useless.
