Ben Simmons Publicly Declares For 2016 NBA Draft

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Mon Mar 21, 2016 4:03 pm

Ben Simmons has publicly declared for the 2016 NBA Draft.

"I'm making it official," Simmons said late Sunday night.

Simmons is widely expected to be the first or second player selected in the draft.

Adrian Wojnarowski previously reported Simmons will sign with Rich Paul of Klutch Sports.

In his lone season at LSU, Simmons averaged 19.2 points on 56 percent shooting to go with 11.8 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 2.0 steals per game.

Simmons reminds me of Grant Hill, but taller.
Rookie Grant Hill averaged 19.9ppg 6.4rpg 5.0apg.
Sure today's league is more about perimeter shooting....but Wiggins didn't have much of a perimeter game in his rookie year and he still averaged 16.9ppg.
I think Simmons can average 20ppg in his rookie season.

Grant Hill's athleticism was elite even among NBA players. Ben's wont be.

^ Hill may have been quicker, but Simmons is 2 inches taller and has arguably even better ball-handling skills.
Its going to be very exciting, because Simmons really knows how to get to the basket already, and his height will allow him to finish with authority!
I'm not a Laker fan (actually I've despised them, but only because of Kobe), but I hope he goes to LA instead of Philly!

Lamar Odom ... I really think guys like Hield, Jamal Murray and Ingram have higher upside in NBA then Simmons.

20ppg? I don't even think he can average that in his prime unless becomes much better perimeter shooter ..

Simmons and Odom have pretty similar height, weight, and college stats. Both are praised for overall ball skills, neither had a great perimeter shot.
