Kevon Looney Undergoes Surgery On Left Hop

Kevon Looney underwent a successful left hip arthroscopy this morning to repair a torn labrum.

The procedure was performed by renowned Steadman Clinic orthopaedic surgeon and hip specialist Dr. Marc Philippon at the Vail Valley Surgery Center in Vail, Colorado.

Looney will begin rehabilitation from the surgery immediately and is expected to be out a minimum of four-to-six months before returning to basketball activity. The rookie forward previously underwent surgery on August 20, 2015, to repair a torn labrum in his right hip.

Looney, 20, was selected by the Warriors with the 30th overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft. The 6’9”, 220-pound forward appeared in five games with Golden State this season, averaging 1.8 points and 2.0 rebounds in 4.1 minutes. Looney also appeared in 12 games with the Warriors’ D-League affiliate in Santa Cruz, posting averages of 9.8 points and 7.4 rebounds in 19.3 minutes.

I had to get mine operated on a couple years back. long recovery and was never the same.

Damn son my hop went out on me couple years back. Could never hop the same again.

Yeah I noticed his hopping was limited to just his right so he just hopped in circles. Gotta adjust that hop.

I hop his hop surgery was successful. I wouldn't want there to be any mishops along the way. He needs to hop back on the court soon so he can put the ball through the hop.

Same here, I could never hop again. Best I could do was lightly pounce.
