Mavs Have Dwight Howard Atop Offseason Wishlist

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Sun May 1, 2016 9:11 pm

The Dallas Mavericks have Dwight Howard at the top of their wish list heading into the offseason.

Howard is expected to opt out of his contract with the Houston Rockets.

Howard remains good friends with Chandler Parsons, who played a big role in recruiting DeAndre Jordan last offseason.

I find it difficult to believe Mark Cuban will stick with Howard once he sees how lazy and mentally weak he is in practice and in games. There's a reason Howard keeps feeling like he doesn't get respected and always clashes with the best player on a team; he's a punk in denial of his weaknesses, which are many.

I guess Mavs didn't learn the last time he was a free agent?

This can't be right. Sounds too stupid to be true.

If my Mavs were going to overpay for a useless C they may as well resigned Tyson Chandler, at least he is still beloved unlike this bum. After next season Cuban really needs to start rebuilding from the draft like normal franchises do.
What you know about Dirk’s leadership skills is non existent. You don’t have a clue. Your ability to evaluate leadership skills….well you obviously have an overinflated value of your own. Did you take business classes at Marquette?

"Inside" what? When are people going to realize that Dwight Howard at this stage of his career is barely even an inside presence? He was amazing when he was dominant athletically, but at this point in his career he's less than 50% of his Magic days. This is a guy with a limited scoring ability because he never honed his game and with his health issue it is never going to get better. Anyone who pays him into the double figures is going to suffer greatly.

It wouldn't surprised me if Dwight pulled the same thing DeAndre did

Meh - he's still a top 5 rebounder, but he's fallen all the way to #15 in blocks. If you are only an impact player on 1 end, you've got to make more of an impact than Howard currently does.

Of course, Dallas is near the bottom in terms of rebounding, so that 1 skill is more important to them than most teams.

He was an awful defensive rebounder for the last half of the Season. We rebounded better with Capela on the floor.

BUT!!! Howard will still be beneficial to the Magics. I guarantee you magics will have a much better shot making the playoffs with Howard on the team. his stats will be more stable when he's not playing a long side ball hog James harden
