Russell Westbrook Was Offered Partial Academic Scholarship By Stanford

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Tue May 24, 2016 5:14 pm

Russell Westbrook was an honor student at Leuzinger High School and was accepted to Stanford and given a partial academic scholarship.

Westbrook says he probably wouldn't have gone because of the cost of tuition. Westbrook had some interest from Creighton and San Diego State but didn't end up on UCLA's radar until Jordan Farmar declared for the draft.

Westbrook's favorite subject in school was math.

After listening to many of his interviews I have to conclude that this must be a joke
"We're like Tim Duncan and David Robinson," Villanueva said, following the team's morning shootaround at the America West Arena. "But a younger version. I really feel that."

So the way you speak informally during interviews (it is a kid's game after all) constitutes intelligence? Cmon now.

Rofl no he was not an honor student. My sister was his Engish teacher at leuzinger. He failed the class because nba players in LA don't go to class. Principal transfered him out of the class so his grades would meet the criteria to play ball. Derp.

Lol it was a joke ,relax , obviously I don't actually know how smart he is .. I was just saying if I had to guess which NBA players earned academic scholarships , Westbrook would be at the bottom of that list.

By the way , kid's game ? Really ? What is that supposed to mean in this situation ? Obviously kids play the game but we are talking about professional's playing in the best men's league in the world. Why are you on a forum talking about a kid's game ?

Lol of course it never happened , he's a math genius , exhibit A from article :

"He's said figuring out his outfit is like solving an equation."

Do you think his cow shirt was variable X or Y in his daily equation ?

Stanford didn't offer Lin a scholarship when he played like down the street and now we find out they only offered Russ a partial. They aren't recruiting well.
