David Lee Doesn't Rule Out Return To Warriors

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Tue Jul 5, 2016 2:04 pm

David Lee is not ruling out the possibility of rejoining the Golden State Warriors.

The Warriors traded away Lee last offseason as he was on the final season of his contract.

Lee was asked by TMZ about rumors of him rejoining the Warriors while at Nobu in Malibu.

"We're still trying to figure it out," Lee said.

"Everything goes from what K.D. did and that kind of sets the table for the rest of the league."

Lee was asked if he'd take a pay cut to join the Warriors.

"We'll see what happens."

Get it done Lacob!

1) W's are thin on bigs
2) D Lee has the skillset W's lack and need in playoffs: low post playmaker and rebs
3) D Lee already has chemistry with squad

He'll be 33.5 when season starts. I think his days being viewed as a starting PF are done as he can shoot the 3 and defend well. I still think he has value. He could sign a 1 year deal to compete for a title and then try and get last contract in 2017 to earn final decent paycheque.

now that David West has signed on that pretty much rules out Lee. I wanted him back. David was a consummate professional in his time w/ the Warriors. he was a huge plus in the 2015 Finals and would have been a difference maker in 2016 had he been on the roster. he completely changed the energy and play of the bigs in those finals when the W's were getting destroyed inside by Thompson and Mozgov. what a difference it would have made to give him the majority of Ezeli and Varejao mins. his contribution and positive energy was really overlooked in that championship run
