Clippers Exploring Sites For New Arena

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Wed Jul 27, 2016 6:42 pm

The Los Angeles Clippers are exploring sites for a new arena.

The Clippers' lease at Staples Center runs through 2024.

One area of interest for the Clippers is on the Westside of Los Angeles.

The Clippers will always be the Diet Coke of the LA Basketball Teams. Always going around in the shadow of the real thing.

Best news I've heard in a long time. As a general NBA fan, I've never understood why one NBA franchise would want to play in the building of another NBA team.

I've always wanted to see the team play at Honda Center but that building is already 23 years old plus if he wanted to control revenue there, he would have to buy the Ducks from Henry Samueli.

I've actually proposed an arena idea to Ballmer/Zucker on the parking lot of the NOHO red line station. It's the 2nd biggest transportation hub in LA and they could build a 12 story parking structure to make up for the loss of parking on the lot where the arena is being built. Problem is that it looks like they are already trying to develop that area with condos.

4th and Pico in Santa Monica next to the convention center and walking distance from the 4th street expo line station or the lot next to the Sepulveda/Expo expo line station would be good as well.

The Clippers won more than 3x's the games that the Lakers won last year. Last season the Clippers won 53 games; The Lakers have won 65 games in the last three seasons combined. The last time the Lakers finished a season with a better record than the Clips was five seasons ago, in 2012... The Lakers won 1 more game.

I'm not angry. I'm not even a Clippers fan. I'm trying to help you. This is an intervention. Your Lakers pride has blinded you to the truth. The Clippers are better than the Lakers and they have been for quite a while. I applaud you for sticking by your team through this desolate time but you must stop pretending that they are in any way better than their record shows. They aren't and it isn't healthy to go through life in this state of delusion. So look to your friends and family... your fellow board members.... we're here for you!
