Even with context applied, still doesn't come out sounding great. There's a difference between not overthinking the game and not caring about the outcome. Your goal as a professional athlete going into each game should be to win.

That's cool but the corollary to what Durant means to say here is he is the archer that shoots best when he doesn't have a specific target.

Great poster for the new generation. "Avoid pressure and not being a champion won't matter as much!"

What a cowardly thing to say. I can't believe how fast Ive completely lost respect for this talented player.

Lots of people r going overboard with what kd says but it's the same mindset that got him to were he is.so why change something that's working for him.

Well that's exactly how Durant looked in the playoffs... like he didn't care if he won or lost. When OKC lost 3 straight to GS, he basically shrugged it off. He was already halfway out the door.

This statement is really shocking. Wining championships is not about "playing loose and having fun"

This is true if the "Prize" is having fun and the "Target" is to win.


It's also true if the prize is winning a championship and the target is playing your best game... there is a reason players take it one game at a time.
