Mike D'Antoni will consider using Eric Gordon as a starter for the Houston Rockets once the regular season begins.
Gordon has typically started throughout his career and D'Antoni wants him to adjust to that role at least initially.
The Rockets will start Patrick Beverley at one of the guard spots alongside James Harden who is now being used as a point guard.
Gordon signed a four-year, $53 million deal with the Rockets in the offseason.

Sounds good. They should be flexible with their starting lineup. I'm seeing the constant starters being Harden, Ariza & Anderson, then the other two positions will be situational.

Um...was this article miswritten? Because it sounded like it said that Beverley would be starting, Harden would be starting (as a 'PG" no less, AND the Rockets wanted Gordon to get used to a...starting role? As what? A 6'3" SF? Moving 6'7" Ariza to...PF?
I assume the article meant that they wanted Gordon to get used to a reserve role, but would consider starting him...somewhere, as the season went on.

So Beverley WILL start. That means if Gordon starts he'd be SF. Wow.

So what's the big deal if they start him at SF? Kyle Hines is only 6'5" and plays Center just like Chuck Hayes too. Besides, the game rotation sometimes even spins to when you see a PG guarding PF. LOL haven't you ever seen KD on CP3? and it really wasn't a very terrible matchup. Now, long as Gordon could rock the position, height wouldn't be a mojor factor of concern.

He might start a game or two before he gets his annual injury

Never said it's a big deal. It'd be interesting tho.

They're not long term starters in the NBA. If they start all the games, the team isn't gonna be very good.
Besides, the game rotation sometimes even spins to when you see a PG guarding PF.
That's different from starting.
LOL haven't you ever seen KD on CP3? and it really wasn't a very terrible matchup.
But one wouldn't want that to happen all the times.
Now, long as Gordon could rock the position, height wouldn't be a mojor factor of concern.
Sure! Good luck!

That's it exactly.
D'Antoni said the reason they were starting K.J.McDaniels was to keep Gordon in his expected role as 6th man when Beverley returns.
They will reevaluate sometime after that.
The title of this article is a bit misleading.

I think he meant as a starter while Beverley is hurt. They've been starting KJ instead
