Wolves Interested In Trading For Frontcourt Player

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Wed Dec 14, 2016 1:50 am

The Minnesota Timberwolves are "looking to trade for a frontcourt player," according to Brian Windhorst.

The Wolves added Cole Aldrich and Jordan Hill in the offseason but both have played relatively limited minutes. Minnesota also has Nemanja Bjelica and Adreian Payne on their depth chart at the big positions.

Tom Thibodeau has been committed to playing Karl-Anthony Towns in two-big lineups.

The Wolves have a 6-14 record entering their game on Tuesday against the Bulls.

Isn't Philly or maybe Sacramento the best trading partners?

Does not make any sense. Dieng plays very well.

They need to improve their bench play. Find an identity.

They article says they're looking for a frontocurt player and then talks about the current backup bigs. No mention of replacing Dieng.

I never said it was an even trade, it was based off the fact that Noah has history with Thibs and with Thibs team struggling to play defense he may want his old defensive captain when the cap space wouldn't hurt for the Timberwolves as it does hurt the Knicks, and Rubio would be a good fit with the Kings as they do not have any pass-first point guards right now. It was already a rumor I heard around 2 weeks ago so I figured I'd see what others thought.

Noah is untradeable on his current contract. Just stop.

Noah for Rubio may actually work if you look at it instead of blasting it. I mean Rubio has definitely lived up to his contract right? Always injured, can't shoot. it is trading a dysfunctional piece at best. But the hater lives up to his name of giving raptor fans a bad name. for a dysfunctional piece for a dysfunctional piece this may work. AT best it is trading for the sake of trading. Noah has not actually been bad for the Knicks as he has help changed the culture o the locker room and the mentality of the team. He also help bring in Lee who has been a a decent player.

Personal shot. Nice work.

You did notice the Knicks were getting Rudy Gay in the middle of all that right?

You're free to believe whatever you want but Noah is arguably attached the worst contract in the league. Spin that as a tradeable asset bringing back value anyway you wish.

I hear Rubio's name in a lot of trade talks and I just don't see where the value is. One of the worst shooting pg's of all time. Not good on defense. He's a good passer but if he can't shoot consistently that severely limits his potential to create for others. I don't see anybody giving up anything significant for him.

The most recent trade rumor is John Wall to Minny for Rubio, Dunn, and Dieng. I liked Dunn coming out but I think I would rather have Dunn and TWolves #1 pick. Twolves are tied for worst record in the league. Yes Wall would make them better but in the West, that's a pretty big hole to climb out of. That pick would still end up a top 10 pick in a loaded draft. One would make me wonder though if TWolves would then trade Wiggins to Sacramento for Cousins. It's no secret Wall and Cousins are trying to team up. Wall/Levine/KAT/Cousins would be pretty nasty. add a 3 and D guy to that and you have a playoff team for sure. And Tibbs would be the perfect coach for that bunch.
