There must be some bad cess in that physical. Scared away the Pistons last year, and now after all the stalling, the Rockets are ducking out too. Maybe his spine is made of tissue paper?

He's a 7 footer who can't rebound, defend, pass, protect the rim, or hit outside shots.

I'm sure teams are lining up.

Sick burn except that he was above league average in 3pt shooting the last couple years, has a roughly equal asst/TO (good for a big), and has okay defensive #s. He's not Dirk Nowitizki but he's a useful player and plenty of teams would want him (if he's healthy).

Actually he can defend, protect the rim, pass and hit outside shots and almost as good rebounder as Marc Gasol
Fact is that momentum in games is a real thing, while not tangible itself, you can tangibly see the effect it has when teams are on runs and how it can dramatically effect the outcome of games when you can generate any momentum.

So did he retain any of his guaranteed money after all this?

The Rockets dodged a bullet here! If they pay him they are going to want to play him. The Rockets have won 8 straight and seem to be rolling. I don't think Monti brings anything to the table worth breaking their flow.

So they prevented him from getting a contract in Brooklyn and then dump him.

Stay classy, Morey...

Pretty sure the contract was contingent on passing the physical. No pass, no cash

Rockets tried to pull a fast one on the Pistons before the deadline last season. And the Pistons rightful flunked his physical and sent him back to Houston.

Nice try Daryl.

He is the best Curry defender.

He put so much sweat on the floor and slipped and injured Curry.

He's going to be a steal for the team that signs him.

This has got to be the oddest player/team/other-team situation in quite some time.

I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't sign with anyone this year.
Only a few teams have the cap space to meet his demands. One of them, the Nets, now can no longer sign him. Unless the 76ers want him, he will either have to settle on a lower value, or go overseas. Phoenix has too many bigs they are developing to bring him in.

After all this, it's a shame. He had a deal with the Nets and they've removed them from the equation.

What was the point of matching the Nets offer sheet?

actually the numbers and advanced per 48's indicate DMO can be an asset at under 10mil per in this economic climate. and he is a good passer. can hit the 3 and rebounds fairly. i stretch 4 role in say MIN and he'd blossom.
