Fred Hoiberg Under Scrutiny As Bulls Struggle

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Fri Dec 30, 2016 5:11 pm

Fred Hoiberg is under earlier-than-expected pressure with the Chicago Bulls' disappointing December play.

While John Paxson and Gar Forman haven't escaped questioning as well, the Bulls are increasingly assessing the coaching fit.

Hoiberg so far has been best protected by the fact he's owed a significant amount of money on his five-year, $25 million contract.

The Bulls are concerned with how the players have responded to Hoiberg.

I thought the bulls have overachieved given the make up of the team.

Haha! I thought the same thing!

When I looked at the standings and noticed they were .500 team, I thought wow, Fred Hoiberg is doing an incredible job!

The band-aid of Rajon Rondo and And elder Dwayne Wade, doesn't really give Freddy too much to work with. What did people expect? .500 not that bad

The worst thing that happened to the Bulls was getting off to a fast start. That reset expectations up to an unreasonable level. As currently composed, they are pretty much where you'd expect them to be.

Rondo is a tough one to handle

Don't do that. The Bulls signed him so they wanted him in the first place.

Well, first of all, there weren't a lot of choices, with Lin and Conley gone.

Then the FO and the coach aren't necessarily the same thing.

Then the what? FO?

The Bulls got lucky and they wanted to turn this season into a tanking season, however, they did not. Now, to start blaming Fred that is being unresponsible. As you blaming Rondo, or even saying "Rondo is a tough one to handle" is unfair because he's a player that speaks his mind and will call out B.S.

Bulls put together an absurd roster.
Blame the coach.

I see Gar and Paxson are once again skirting blame.

I think if you put McGee back then, he would get those blocks just as easily as Russell did. Russell's athleticism was well ahead of the players of his time, and that's about it.

Good riddance Fred

You are suck as a coach
KC: Do you still think your a championship caliber team?
Gar: I never said that and correct me if i'm wrong
KC: You were asked that question at the news conference announcing Thibodeau's dismissal and you answered yes

Never really understood why they hired Fred Hoiberg to replace Thibodeau.

To go from a defensive team to an offensive team is hard, and he didn't really have a long track record of success in college. Felt like
they were trying to get their version of the coach in Boston (forgot his name).

But the main reason they suck is Rondo doesn't fit the team. He's a backup pg at this point in his career, and his inability to shoot hurts all his teams now that hes not as athletic as he was when he was younger.

Clean the house. The Bulls can afford it. They will have consecutive sold out games til 2020.

FO = front office. Just cuz the FO signed him doesn't mean the coach wanted him.

Just cuz he speaks his mind and will call out BS doesn't mean he's not tough to handle. He is not what he used to be and the league has moved on from his style of play. He's got a lot of baggage as well.

Fred Hoiberg is a solid X's and O's guy but does not have the personnel skills to coach at the top level... Similar to D. Blatt on a much scaled down level

I'm sure most of us had a feeling this was going to be an issue. Two non-shooters in a backcourt? Makes no sense.
