Report: LeBron James In Favor Of Trading Kevin Love For Carmelo Anthony

LeBron James is pushing for the Cleveland Cavaliers to trade for Carmelo Anthony, even if it means dealing away Kevin Love, according to a league source.

The front office of the Cavaliers is opposed to dealing Love for Anthony.

Phil Jackson is hoping to trade Anthony before the Feb. 23rd deadline.

The Daily News reported last February that James and Anthony discussed forcing a trade to Cleveland, but Anthony said he wasn't ready to leave New York and thus did not ask the team to pursue a possible trade.

For the Cavs to acquire Anthony without including Love in the deal would require the Knicks to take back at least three role players in order to match salaries.

New York can send Kyle Oquinn along with melo so it gives a much needed bigman to the cavs

if you put them all on the 2nd unit with lebron it becomes the Cleveland-2015-Knicks

PG - Iman Shumpert
SG - JR smith
SF - Lebron James
PF - Carmelo Anthony
C - Kyle O'Quin

... so the knicks couldnt win anything in 2015 with melo and amare ... now u just replace amare stoudemire by lebron and they become favourite over GSW

Sad to see the NBA turn into this, Lebron needs 3 all stars on his roster to compete, come on man.

They should get this deal done. It's obviously going to be the Warriors vs the Cavs in the finals and the Cavs don't really need Love vs the Warriors.

Melo and Lebron vs Curry and Durant would be awesome. I think that puts the Cavs ahead slightly.

LOL Why the hell would they want Carmelo's overrated ass? Love is better, younger, is having a great season, and doesn't play the same position as Lebron.

What exactly is the upside to making this deal?

Yeah I mean the other team only has 4 current all stars and 2 x prime mvps and 6th man who was NBA finals MVP.. Lebron has 3 all stars including himself and one MVP including himself.. I guess since Durant has one MVP and curry has 2 and Lebron has 4 that Lebron is still winning right? MJ had pippen all star.. Dennis Rodman (not an allstar at the bulls but was still that level just less ball while playing with MJ same as what happened to love last year) Horace Grant.. I am sure I am missing others but goes to show 2-3 all stars is standard and MJ had a team with Depth no other side in the league had..

love has had back injury history since his draft days
his back got worst at every playoff runs when things get physical
and now recently hes been missing games and stuff due to back problems creeping up
it will only get worse with time ... better trade that weak link already before he loses his trade value
what can you do with a bigman that will be scared to play physical, boxout, rebounds, tight D on bigmans and stuff

channing frye and mirotic can do everything he does for cheaper
