Draymond Green: Dolan Has 'Slave Master Mentality' In Treatment Of Oakley

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Wed Feb 15, 2017 7:57 pm

Draymond Green spoke out against James Dolan and the New York Knicks' treatment of Charles Oakley last week in which he was ejected from Madison Square Garden.

“The man is a legend. Treat him as such,” Green said. “First off. This is Charles Oakley. Why is he buying a ticket?”

Oakley and Dolan met with Adam Silver on Monday, leading the Knicks to lift their ban upon him from MSG.

“You doing it for me, It’s all good,” Green said. “You doing it against me … you speaking out against my organization, it’s not good anymore? That’s a slave mentality. A slave master mentality. That’s ridiculous. It was all fine and dandy when he was laying people out, taking fines and all this stuff for your organization. But now all of a sudden when he says something that he feels, it’s a problem.”

I think Dolan is a terrible owner and petty, but give me a break on this comparison. This is a retired former employee (who made millions) that trashed the current ownership in the media. I think it's all pretty stupid and was handled atrociously but a "slave master mentality" is misplaced.

You could run the same scenrio at many companies acorss the nation where anyone on this board worked where owners and past employees had a falling out. If that person just showed up around the owner and they would be asked to and escorted out if they didn't. That's what this is and has happened in many other walks of life/companies/people of all races.

Well said. I think there's fault on both sides. Oakley could have handled himself better and the team could have removed/relocated him less conspicuously. But hey, its the Knix we're talking about here. Even the great Phil Jackson has fallen victim to their curse of perpetual ineptitude.

I love my Ws and especially Green as a player, but am totally agree with these here. This PC sh$t and frequent race card miles are going too far.

Just like it's in the news today that all the outrage with a model posing in a Geisha dress, forcing her to apologize quickly. The fact is in Japan nobody would give a cr@p and they actually like it when other people adopt their culture.

These people need to stop being offended on other people's perceived behave all the freaking time. It's an argument and both parties are over it, so leave it as it is.

Dolan Has 'Slave Master Mentality' In Treatment Of Oakley
I would say this is the dumbest quote ever, but do I really have to? Green is a very good NBA player. I'll leave it at that.

I think about it like this. If a guy that had worked at a McDonald's franchise years ago in his 20's was running around the streets talking $hit about the new owner of McDonald's and how horrible the sanitation was under him and then suddenly showed up at that same McDonald's and started eating a burger at the table directly behind the new owner trying to eat his he'd likely be asked to leave and no one would think twice about this. That's essentially the everyday regular people comparison.

I expect it probably happens at tons of workplaces of all sorts of quality. I know my father has had to fire probably about a 100 employee's at this point since he's started his company and we hear about them talking crap about us and the company and 2 or 3 times I know of they have in fact shown up drunk or with a vendetta. I doubt that is all that unusual. It's just business. You own a business you are aware of the people around you that are trying to hurt the company or potentially you have angered that might want to take a swipe at you. We had to fire one guy for carrying a gun on the job. Stuff gets real when you are playing with peoples careers or livelyhoods.
