The Houston Rockets are staying in Baton Rouge ahead of their game on Friday at the New Orleans Pelicans due to the exorbitant prices of hotels in the Big Easy.

The Rockets played at home on Wednesday against the Los Angeles Lakers and then traveled to New Orleans.

The Rockets will hold shootaround in Baton Rouge and then bus to New Orleans on the day of the game. The 82 mile trip will take approximately one hour and 40 minutes.

NBA teams typically stay at five-star hotels while traveling on the road.

It must be expensive knowing they just came from L.A. a notoriously expensive city to stay/live in.

Also, I wonder if the players are annoyed by the long drive they have to make now because of this. I would be annoyed, I get annoyed when I have to drive/sit in a car for 30 minutes.

Baton Rouge? That's a little extreme.
Maybe Kenner, Laplace or Slidell. Yeah no five star hotels but if they are that hard up for money maybe the La Quinta would work.

I wonder how much they charge to make a billion dollar franchise to save money
