Frank Vogel Believes Mario Hezonja's Best Position Could Be Power Forward

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Thu Mar 23, 2017 2:50 am

The Orlando Magic will play Mario Hezonja as their backup power forward with Jeff Green out.

Hezonja has primarily played on the wings this season but Frank Vogel sees potential in him as a small-ball power forward.

“There’s a chance that this could be his best position or most natural position in today’s NBA: to be 6-9 small-ball four [power forward]," said Vogel. "He’s going to have an opportunity to take a look at that and see what that feels like."

The Magic acquired Serge Ibaka last June while also signing Green and Bismack Biyombo, which further crowded their frontcourt and shifted Aaron Gordon to the 3.

Smells like desperation. And tanking.

Mainly tanking, but there's definitely some desperation to salvage Mario's season a little so Hennigan has something to say to defend himself from that pick when the owner comes knocking to fire him thrown in there.

cmon Frank, no one believes you. you said earlier in the year that Hezonja would get more play, then rode Jeff Green forever.

I'm starting to believe Frank Vogel doesn't know what he's doing; same goes for the Magic.

Said the same thing about Aaron Gordon at the 3..... Magic front office is a classic case of over thinkers, trying to stay ahead of curb and ignoring the obvious logical simple answers right in front of them SMH.

does it even matter? you can either play in the NBA or you cant. this roster is full of guys who had "potential" but lack an NBA skill set. it seems everyone on this roster has huge flaws in their game. this is probably the strangest collection of players of any team in the league. I dont see any vision for what they want the team to be or how they want to play. it just looks completely random. they really need to start picking players who have substance to their game and at least can do the fundamentals correctly. its pretty simple stuff. dont pick players who cant dribble, pass and shoot proficiently. if you do, you end up w/ a roster like this: a bunch players who need to be taught the basics of basketball at the NBA level. that doesnt work ever
