Christian Dawkins of ASM Sports has been fired for the unauthorized use of a player's personal credit card.
Dawkins was discovered to have used an Uber account connected to the personal credit card of an unidentified NBA player between July 2015 and May 2016, running up approximately $42,000 in charges.
The player had not been a client of ASM Sports, and Dawkins was terminated as a result of the union probe.
Dawkins had been employed elsewhere when he began using the unauthorized account.
The union probe detailed Dawkins’ use of the NBA player’s Uber account 1,865 times and “all but a small number of these charges were made without the player’s permission.”
The NBPA conducted a probe and circulated a memo to union membership.
